From Epoptica No. 12, September 1989:
. . . But Ray doesn’t just give you a perfect tool and leave you to figure out how to use it. He has written an extensive manual for the Punch giving some very hot routines he’s devised. Called THE PUNCH LETTERS the book consists of a series of effects, methods, and ideas — some highly original — using the tool. The writing style is novel: the information is given in the form of a series of letters from one imaginary magician to another. Each letter in the book is a progressive teaching tool; several suggestions on performing a Bridge Deal including a no-fuss version by Dai Vernon; several Poker Deals and Blackjack Deals including the Three to One Blackjack; Three Out of Four Hi-Lo and Hi-Lo Even Money; and advice on the Second Deal.
What if you don’t Second Deal? If you think all work with the Punch requires that you execute a flawless Second Deal, you’re way off base. Some of the material explained by Ray does use the sleight, some does not, and some is self-working. There is something for every taste here.
Please note: While this item is new and unused, it has been sitting around for decades, so issues such as rusted staples or bowed pages may be present.
