An accomplished comedy performer and magic dealer, Rudy Roxo wrote only one magic book over the course of his career, and this is it. With contributions from the likes of Al Baker and Harlan Tarbell, there’s some great material among Modern Master Magic’s fifty-two pages. A diverse selection of card effects open the book, and are followed by routines with coins, silks and assorted production items, as well as stage illusions. Highlights include Edward Bagshawe’s novel transposition using cards with holes punched through them, Herman L. Weber’s puzzling production box and August Kroger’s method for the walking-through-a-wall effect.
