Description

This volume kicks off with a reprint of an article from 1789 about a magician being hanged in England. There are photographs of Houdini and Bess at the grave of The Great Lafayette, as well as the graves of Ling Look and Yamadeva. Harry Kellar had recently died, and there is a wonderful article about his life. Also articles about the history of superstition, and an article by Houdini on Philippe, an obscure 19th century magician. The 18th annual SAM banquet was held in New York City, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle attended. There is also a short biography of Frank Ducrot, editorial notes by Houdini, and the minutes of the monthly meetings.
