Description

Charles Bertram was the court conjurer to King Edward VII, and when he decided to take a trip around the world, it became more than a journey, it was an adventure,  In this book he relates many fascinating stories and anecdotes from his travels. He visited cities in India, China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, as well as San Francisco and Philadelphia, and he brought a camera, so he could record his travels, taking dozens of photographs of temples, street scenes, animals, Hindu fakirs, and even some public executions. An extremely enjoyable read. Highly recommended by David Roth, Conjuring Arts Research Center’s Master in Residence.
